The one sentence

10 minutes or less

Set a fixed fifteen minutes daily, not near bedtime.
During the day, when money worry arrives, write one line and say: not now.
In the appointment, find ONE real number. What actually goes out this month, or what one creditor is actually owed.
One number per session. Not the whole picture.
Stop at fifteen minutes even if you have not finished.

If it does not work

If finding the number means opening something you cannot open yet, the step is to write down which envelope it is in. That counts, and the next session can open it.
