Lesson 6 of 6 · When it has gone past shouting
The last one
One person, told once. Concrete about who and when.
The move
Knowing when to stop and ask
5 minutes or less
- Have you hurt them, or come close?
- Are you frightened of what you might do?
- Do they flinch?
- A yes to any of these means today, and a person, not a course. That is not a judgement on you and asking is the thing a good parent does.
If it does not work
If you cannot say it to somebody you know, say it to a helpline where nobody knows your name. Saying it out loud once is the step that matters.
Write the one sentence
A specific plan works better than a good intention. Fill both halves in your own words.
When
I will
Put it in your calendar
Pick a day and a time and you will get a calendar file to open. Nothing is sent anywhere.
