Explaining social rules to a child who missed them leans on the same steady attention that let them slip past in the first place. Rehearsal skips that. They get to try the words in their own mouth and hear how they land, straight away. Keep the scenes short and ordinary, like asking to join a game or saying sorry after knocking something over, and finish on something they got right.
Speak good words to all people (Quran 2:83). Good speech is set there as an obligation, and an obligation is something a child can be taught and helped to practise.
Remember when We took a pledge from the Children of Israel: ‘Worship none but God; be good to your parents and kinsfolk, to orphans and the poor; speak good words to all people; keep up the prayer and pay the prescribed alms.’ Then all but a few of you turned away and paid no heed

The nearest evidence in reach here is a randomised controlled trial of a structured group programme, aimed at internalised stigma in severe mental illness and built because that stigma is common and linked to worse outcomes. Different people, different target, so it says nothing directly about role play with children. It is more honest to call rehearsal a long used teaching practice than to claim a trial behind it.

Strength of evidence: one line of research. A single study, or a theoretical account.
Practising the actual words makes them available in the moment, when there is no time left to work anything out.
Getting your ordinary life a bit calmer is worth doing for its own sake. More sleep, a little more structure, food that is not all improvised. Not perfect, just good enough to work with.
When you have stopped believing you can change anything, the reflex is to avoid and to scroll. What breaks that is not encouragement, it is one small thing actually finished.
Talking a lot is on the diagnostic list. It sits with the impulsive symptoms, which makes it part of the condition rather than proof that you are self absorbed.
