Researchers want their treatment to work, and that hope leaks into how they rate what they see, which is why the person handing out the pill and the person scoring the behaviour are both kept in the dark until the end. It is unblinded early only if someone's safety needs it. Numbers matter for a plainer reason: in a five person study, one person swings twenty percent of the result. Once you have these two, you can read the next advertisement without needing anyone to help you.
This explains how treatments work. Never start, stop or change a medication because of something you read here.
Do not follow blindly what you do not know to be true: ears, eyes, and heart, you will be questioned about all these (Quran 17:36). Checking a claim before you accept it is described as part of the responsibility, not as cynicism.

A triple blind randomised trial in adults with ADHD compared standard EEG neurofeedback with sham neurofeedback and with a meta cognitive group therapy. The design is the point here: putting a convincing fake in the comparison is how you find out whether the treatment itself did anything, or whether the ritual around it did. Trials built this way are how any claim eventually gets tested.

Strength of evidence: one line of research. A single study, or a theoretical account.
Blinding and decent numbers exist to stop hope and chance from doing the work the treatment was supposed to do.
You are going to look things up anyway, so start somewhere with proper review behind it. CHADD and Understood both have professionals checking what goes on the page.
The stack goes: understand it, medicate where that is right, change what the adults do, change what the day asks, and keep arguing the child's corner. Each layer does a job the others cannot.
Think of ADHD as sitting at the centre of an onion. Poor sleep, sleep apnoea, low vitamin levels, allergy, ongoing pain, untreated anxiety or low mood all sit in layers around it, and each one makes the centre look worse than it is.
