Worth testing instead of assuming. Take one task you always do sitting still and do it moving gently: read on your feet, take the meeting walking, keep something soft in one hand. Judge it by how long you lasted and how much you took in, not by how it looked. Most of us were taught that stillness is what focus looks like, and for some minds that lesson costs more than it gives.
He has chosen you and placed no hardship in your religion (Quran 22:78). If an arrangement is meant to be liveable, sitting rigidly still is not the price of doing it properly.
الحج
وَجَٰهِدُواْ فِي ٱللَّهِ حَقَّ جِهَادِهِۦۚ هُوَ ٱجۡتَبَىٰكُمۡ وَمَا جَعَلَ عَلَيۡكُمۡ فِي ٱلدِّينِ مِنۡ حَرَجࣲۚ مِّلَّةَ أَبِيكُمۡ إِبۡرَٰهِيمَۚ هُوَ سَمَّىٰكُمُ ٱلۡمُسۡلِمِينَ مِن قَبۡلُ وَفِي هَٰذَا لِيَكُونَ ٱلرَّسُولُ شَهِيدًا عَلَيۡكُمۡ وَتَكُونُواْ شُهَدَآءَ عَلَى ٱلنَّاسِۚ فَأَقِيمُواْ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ وَءَاتُواْ ٱلزَّكَوٰةَ وَٱعۡتَصِمُواْ بِٱللَّهِ هُوَ مَوۡلَىٰكُمۡۖ فَنِعۡمَ ٱلۡمَوۡلَىٰ وَنِعۡمَ ٱلنَّصِيرُ
Strive hard for God as is His due: He has chosen you and placed no hardship in your religion, the faith of your forefather Abraham. God has called you Muslims––both in the past and in this [message]––so that the Messenger can bear witness about you and so that you can bear witness about other people. So keep up the prayer, give the prescribed alms, and seek refuge in God: He is your protector––an excellent protector and an excellent helper

A meta-analysis of mind wandering found that attention drifts more as a task gets more demanding, and that how much people drift differs reliably from one person to the next. That is a case for changing the conditions you work in rather than gritting your teeth, since some of the drift is not under your control on the day. The specific claim about movement and the cerebellum is not what those studies tested, so hold the explanation loosely and the practice lightly.

Strength of evidence: one line of research. A single study, or a theoretical account.
A steady bit of motion holds you alert without asking for your attention, which leaves more of it for the task.
In a shared room, say what you are doing and why before you start, so it does not become one more thing you have to defend.
But what if I need it one day? The honest answer is that keeping it has a daily price. A list you cannot find anything in has stopped being a list.
The classroom is the strongest place to help and most clinicians cannot get into one. That is a reason to work well in the next best place, not a reason to give up.
Writing things down is not evidence that your memory has failed. It is what happens once there is more in your life than one head can hold.
