Asked evenly it does not start a row, and it returns the conversation to where it belongs. Pharmacists have proper clinical questions to ask about interactions, timing and dose, and those deserve a straight answer. Disapproval about taking a psychiatric medicine at all is a different thing wearing the same coat. Clinicians can usually hold that line for themselves, which is exactly why they should hold it for the patients who cannot.

'Who has forbidden the adornment and the nourishment God has provided for His servants?' (Quran 7:32). The question is handed back to the one doing the forbidding, which is roughly the move here.

A clinical review of twenty years of ADHD research sets out what has been established about diagnosis and treatment and what remains open. The place of these medicines in care belongs to the established part. Personal disapproval at a counter adds nothing to that record, and it is fair to treat it as a separate matter.

There are really only two directions in the nervous system, go and stop. Almost everything a medicine does comes down to shifting the balance between them somewhere.
Non-stimulants are usually tried after the stimulants rather than instead of them, mostly because they are harder to tolerate. That is about order, not about the drug being second rate.
Licences start at six years old, and that number comes from how trials have to be run rather than from a safety finding. Younger children do get treated where the case is strong.
