Classrooms that do this report smoother changeovers and better recall of whatever was just taught. The same trick works at a desk: end one job, move for a minute, start the next. It gives the previous thing a moment to settle and wakes you up for what follows. It also makes stopping something pleasant, which is half the battle when the next task is dull.
He gave you hearing, sight, and minds (Quran 32:9). The equipment for learning was given, and a minute of movement is just clearing the way for it.

Across studies of adolescents, more sedentary time, screen time in particular, was linked with poorer mental health, though which way the causation runs is not settled. That is about long stretches of sitting rather than about one minute breaks. It supports interrupting the sitting without telling you how long an interruption needs to be.

Strength of evidence: one line of research. A single study, or a theoretical account.
A short burst of movement leaves you more alert for what comes next and gives the last thing a moment to settle.
Some of what you are carrying has not finished happening. Movement that soothes rather than pushes tends to suit that better than anything strenuous.
How often you move matters more than how hard. Pick something you would still do on a mediocre Tuesday.
Notice one thing your body is telling you right now. Thirsty, needing the loo, shoulders up somewhere near your ears. That noticing is a skill and it does come back with use.
