That shape repeats all over this literature, so it is worth learning to spot. When a study reports an effect on one measure and not another, the useful questions are who filled in each measure and whether they knew which group the child was in. This is not about anyone being dishonest. People who know what is supposed to happen tend to see it happening.
He made the daylight for seeing, for you to seek your Lord's bounty and to know how to count the years and calculate (Quran 17:12). Counting carefully is part of seeing clearly.

A meta-analysis of cognitive training in ADHD makes the same point sharply. Improvements in core symptoms largely disappeared once the raters were blind to who had been trained, while some neuropsychological measures still moved. Blinding is not a technicality in this field. It is often the whole difference between a finding and an impression.

Strength of evidence: one line of research. A single study, or a theoretical account.
Who does the rating, and whether they know who got what, quietly shapes the result.
Brain training games make you better at the game. Sadly, that improvement tends to stay inside the game.
Natural is not a regulated word: anyone can print it next to a picture of a leaf, on anything at all. Organic in the USDA sense does have a legal definition sitting behind it.
Keep something to eat and drink within reach for hard conversations. Handing someone a biscuit and a glass of water often settles a room faster than any instruction does.
