With an older teenager or a young adult, a set night can carry a relationship through stretches when talking is hard. Some weeks you will pause it and end up chatting for an hour. Other weeks nobody says much beyond a comment about the plot, and that is fine, because the value was in turning up. Keep it low stakes: no agenda attached, and do not use the slot to raise the thing you have been meaning to raise.
Men and women who remember God often (Quran 33:35). Frequency is what gets praised there, and it is frequency rather than intensity that holds an ordinary relationship together too.
الأحزاب

For men and women who are devoted to God- believing men and women, obedient men and women, truthful men and women, steadfast men and women, humble men and women, charitable men and women, fasting men and women, chaste men and women, men and women who remember God often- God has prepared forgiveness and a rich reward

A conceptual review of handing cognitive work over to digital systems argues that a device can either relieve the load or add to it, depending on how the whole arrangement is set up. The same reasoning transfers to a screen in the living room: shared and timetabled does different work from solitary and endless. This is an argument about design rather than a trial of family television, so take it as a way of thinking, not a finding.

A regular shared slot keeps a relationship warm without either person having to perform closeness.
A screen is a privilege, not something a person is owed. Food, clothes, a warm home, medical care, school, being loved: those are owed, and a phone is not on that list.
After a long stretch online people are often not fully there. Something faintly hypnotic settles in, and things get said and done that the same person would not say or do in a room.
Try one hour with the phone away and out of reach, then talk about what came up. The hour itself is the information.
