Crisis living is a place rather than a personality, which is the good news, because places can be left. Look for one emergency that keeps coming back and could be handled a week earlier: the bill, the form, the fuel light, the repeat prescription. Move only that one forward. Then another next month. You will not get out by working harder inside the emergencies, since that part is already going flat out.
After that will come seven years of hardship which will consume all but a little of what you stored up for them (Quran 12:48). The hard stretch was foreseen and prepared for in advance, which is the opposite of meeting each one as it lands.

An open study of 43 adults tried a talking therapy adapted for ADHD alongside medication and found it workable, with people improving across the course of it. There was no comparison group, so the improvement cannot be credited to the therapy. It is included as an honest picture of where things stand: structured work on these patterns is doable and looks helpful, and the evidence for any single piece of it is thinner than anyone would like.

Strength of evidence: one line of research. A single study, or a theoretical account.
Time given to things before they turn urgent is the only thing that reduces how many emergencies there are.
If the emergencies are about money, housing or safety rather than admin, that needs advice services and practical help, not a better diary.
Some people genuinely do not feel time passing. There is now, and there is not now, and the hour in between goes missing. That is a difference in perception rather than a comment on how much someone cares.
Look in often, say the good bits out loud, and stop for a few minutes about every hour. Three small things that carry more than any talk about concentrating harder.
Urgent means the clock is pushing. Important means it matters to the life you are trying to have. In the moment the two feel identical, and they are not.
