ADHD makes it hard to link a consequence back to a choice made hours or days earlier, so the link has to be supplied from outside until it starts being felt from inside. Keep it curious rather than instructive: you are helping someone see a pattern, not winning an argument about bedtimes. Doing it again and again over months is what makes the connection vivid enough to change anything.

Of the healing that comes from the bee, the verse says 'there truly is a sign in this for those who think' (Quran 16:69). Noticing what follows what is the kind of thinking the Quran keeps asking for.
النحل

Naming specific targets and following them is standard practice rather than an optional extra. A paediatric clinical practice guideline sets out that treatment should follow an accurate diagnosis and combine medication with behavioural approaches and identified target outcomes. Guidelines summarise a field and are shaped by expert judgement as well as by trials, and this one puts naming and tracking outcomes at the centre of care rather than at its edges.

Strength of evidence: one line of research. A single study, or a theoretical account.
A consequence too far away from the choice cannot influence it until somebody brings the two together.
Methylphenidate and amphetamine are not two names for the same thing. One mainly blocks dopamine from being taken back up, and the other does that and pushes more of it out as well.
A short acting dose lasts around four to six hours in most people, and bodies vary a great deal around that. Some clear it quickly and feel almost nothing, some clear it slowly and feel every side effect at a small dose.
A medicine can help some people and still fail to win approval for a condition. Modafinil is the usual example, cleared for a sleep disorder and short of the bar for attention.
