It gets chosen by what your system does rather than by a diagnosis, which is why the same programme is used with very different people, from toddlers to adults with a long trauma history. Sensitivity to touch or movement, trouble settling and difficulty holding attention sit in the same cluster. If none of that describes you, this is probably not your route.
'It is God who endowed you with hearing, sight, and hearts' (Quran 23:78). Hearing is named among the gifts, so trouble with it is worth taking seriously rather than putting up with.

A measure validation study of an interoception scale found that noticing and responding to internal body sensations contributes to wellbeing and relates to anxiety, and it built its measure from everyday behaviours rather than laboratory tasks. That supports treating sensory processing as something worth assessing in ordinary terms. It is not a study of this programme, and it says nothing about who benefits from it.

Strength of evidence: one line of research. A single study, or a theoretical account.
The programme works on the sensory and social side of things, so it only helps if that is where your difficulty sits.
Whatever you did in the worst moment, your body chose it faster than thought. You did not decide it and then get it wrong.
You will stop doing this once you feel better. Write it on your list of things that help, so it is there next time instead of forgotten.
Coming alive at night is a common pattern after trauma. Mornings are flat, the day is heavy, and something lifts around the time you are meant to be winding down.
