Clinicians who fight over every supplement tend to end up the last to know what someone is actually taking, which is the genuinely risky outcome. Something harmless that you have faith in can sit beside the treatment without trouble. The line is drawn at anything that interacts, anything replacing a medicine that is working, and anything nobody can tell you the contents of.
This explains how treatments work. Never start, stop or change a medication because of something you read here.
'do not forbid the good things God has made lawful to you' (Quran 5:87). Leaving the harmless things alone keeps you credible on the ones that matter.

Whether a person keeps taking their medication turns out to be tangled up with the relationships around it. In an observational study of over three hundred children on methylphenidate, poor adherence tracked with maternal distress and strain between parent and child rather than with symptom severity alone. That is a different question, and it points the same way: the atmosphere around a treatment affects whether it is taken.

Strength of evidence: one line of research. A single study, or a theoretical account.
A prescriber who knows everything you are taking can keep you safe, and one who is guessing cannot.
Herbal products can interact with prescribed medication, so check with a pharmacist or prescriber before adding one rather than afterwards.
If you open atomoxetine capsules to mix the contents into food, keep it away from your eyes and wash your hands afterwards. The powder stings badly.
With a bedtime dose, the clock is the dose. Give it too early and the medicine switches on in the small hours, which buys you a child awake at half past four and no appetite at breakfast.
The stimulant shortage is not your pharmacy being disorganised. Regulators set a fixed annual quota of the raw material, and the ceiling has been too low to cover the prescriptions being written.
