Vilazodone is the clear case. On an empty stomach a good deal less of it is absorbed, and the nausea it can cause is easier to sit with overnight than at eleven in the morning. People rarely mention these details because they sound too small to be worth saying, and then they stop the drug and it goes down as a failure. Ask about food, about timing, and about what the first fortnight actually felt like.
Follow the ways made easy for you by your Lord (Quran 16:69). The verse goes on to name healing in something as everyday as what bees produce, which is fair licence to take the small practical route seriously.
النحل

The practical scaffolding around a treatment can be the treatment. In sixteen randomised studies, deliberately scheduling and increasing pleasant and purposeful activity produced large reductions in depression, comparable to cognitive therapy. The activities themselves were ordinary; the scheduling is what made it work.

How and when something is taken changes how much of it reaches you and how bearable it feels.
Before deciding a medicine did not work, check that it was taken at a dose and for a length of time that could have worked.
The standing side-effect list is sexual difficulty, less appetite, an unsettled stomach, disturbed sleep and headache. Sexual side effects are common, and almost nobody raises them unprompted.
