The pathways that dampen pain and the ones involved in mood overlap, and one of the antidepressants is licensed for nerve pain and long term musculoskeletal pain as well as for depression. That makes the two together a genuine factor in choosing. Even where medication is not the route, saying that the pain and the flatness rise and fall in step is useful information for whoever is helping you.
When the earth, for all its spaciousness, closed in around them (Quran 9:118). Pain narrows a life in the way that verse describes, and what follows in it is mercy rather than blame.
التوبة
وَعَلَى ٱلثَّلَٰثَةِ ٱلَّذِينَ خُلِّفُواْ حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَا ضَاقَتۡ عَلَيۡهِمُ ٱلۡأَرۡضُ بِمَا رَحُبَتۡ وَضَاقَتۡ عَلَيۡهِمۡ أَنفُسُهُمۡ وَظَنُّوٓاْ أَن لَّا مَلۡجَأَ مِنَ ٱللَّهِ إِلَّآ إِلَيۡهِ ثُمَّ تَابَ عَلَيۡهِمۡ لِيَتُوبُوٓاْۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ هُوَ ٱلتَّوَّابُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ
And to the three men who stayed behind: when the earth, for all its spaciousness, closed in around them, when their very souls closed in around them, when they realized that the only refuge from God was with Him, He turned to them in mercy in order for them to return [to Him]. Movement is worth keeping in view alongside this. A meta analysis of randomised trials in people living with chronic illness found that exercise training reduced depressive symptoms, with larger effects among those who started out more depressed. Those trials were run in people carrying ongoing physical illness, which is the situation being described here.

Strength of evidence: one line of research. A single study, or a theoretical account.
Pain and mood run through some of the same pathways, so one treatment can reach both.
Whether a medicine works can turn on something as ordinary as taking it with food or moving it to bedtime.
Four things carry most of the difference within the class: how much it sedates, how much it activates, what it does to weight, and what it does to sex.
If you are the therapist, hand the prescriber the profile and leave them the pick. What you hold that they do not is what this person is like across a week, and what they will absolutely not tolerate.
