Most people set twenty five minutes because a website said so, fail at it daily, and conclude they are hopeless. Time yourself honestly across a few sessions instead. Set an alarm for your real number, take two or three minutes off, go again, and after an hour take a proper break you actually want. Giving the wandering a name, the drift, helps too, because then you can spot it arriving without turning it into a verdict on yourself.
Let him whose provision is restricted spend according to what God has given him (Quran 65:7). What you can spend is measured against what you actually have, not against what someone else appears to manage.
الطلاق
لِيُنفِقۡ ذُو سَعَةࣲ مِّن سَعَتِهِۦۖ وَمَن قُدِرَ عَلَيۡهِ رِزۡقُهُۥ فَلۡيُنفِقۡ مِمَّآ ءَاتَىٰهُ ٱللَّهُۚ لَا يُكَلِّفُ ٱللَّهُ نَفۡسًا إِلَّا مَآ ءَاتَىٰهَاۚ سَيَجۡعَلُ ٱللَّهُ بَعۡدَ عُسۡرࣲ يُسۡرࣰ ا
and let the wealthy man spend according to his wealth. But let him whose provision is restricted spend according to what God has given him: God does not burden any soul with more than He has given it- after hardship, God will bring ease

A meta-analysis found that habit formation programmes increase how automatic an activity comes to feel, and identified which components drive that change. The relevant part is that repetition of something you can actually complete is what builds the automatic quality. A block set beyond your real span never gets completed, so it never becomes a habit, whatever else it might be doing to your mood.

A block you can finish ends in success, and success is what makes you willing to start the next one.
Put the schoolwork early in the day and let the screens come after it. For a teenager early means later than you would like, but the order stays the same.
Putting something in the diary does not guarantee it happens. It gives it a chance it did not have before. That is the honest promise, and it is still worth having.
Keeping your own prescription going is a skill like any other: when to reorder, who to ring, what to do when the pharmacy has none. Better learned before the week you need it.
