The first question is too easy to pass. Almost anything you are doing can be defended as useful, which is why it never catches you out. The second one goes straight to the task you have been walking around all morning, and once that task has a name you can make a real decision about it, even if the decision is to leave it until tomorrow on purpose.
When you have decided on a course of action, put your trust in God (Quran 3:159). Deciding comes first, and deciding needs something named to decide about.
آل عمران
فَبِمَا رَحۡمَةࣲ مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ لِنتَ لَهُمۡۖ وَلَوۡ كُنتَ فَظًّا غَلِيظَ ٱلۡقَلۡبِ لَٱنفَضُّواْ مِنۡ حَوۡلِكَۖ فَٱعۡفُ عَنۡهُمۡ وَٱسۡتَغۡفِرۡ لَهُمۡ وَشَاوِرۡهُمۡ فِي ٱلۡأَمۡرِۖ فَإِذَا عَزَمۡتَ فَتَوَكَّلۡ عَلَى ٱللَّهِۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ يُحِبُّ ٱلۡمُتَوَكِّلِينَ
By an act of mercy from God, you [Prophet] were gentle in your dealings with them- had you been harsh, or hard-hearted, they would have dispersed and left you- so pardon them and ask forgiveness for them. Consult with them about matters, then, when you have decided on a course of action, put your trust in God: God loves those who put their trust in Him

A systematic review of ADHD and procrastination describes putting things off as a self-regulation difficulty that shows up often alongside ADHD, while stating plainly that the mechanisms behind the link remain unclear. The review does not test this particular question. What it does support is treating the avoidance as a regulation problem rather than a flaw of character, which makes it much easier to ask yourself something honest.

Strength of evidence: one line of research. A single study, or a theoretical account.
You cannot choose about a task you have not let yourself name.
I will remember that. I can do it later. I will work better after I have just checked my email. Three sentences that cost most of us a great deal.
Paint the room is not a task. Fill the holes, tape the edges, buy the rollers, do one wall. That is four tasks, and each one ends.
Email is the easiest place to hide. It answers back, it never runs out, and by five o'clock it feels like you worked.
