Lesson 1 of 6 · The moment before you snap

The one sentence

Noticing only. Nothing to change yet, and nothing to hold in.

The move

Finding your first sign

5 minutes or less

  1. Think back to the last time you went off. Rewind to ten seconds before.
  2. Write down what your body was doing. Jaw, chest, hands, heat in the face, voice getting higher.
  3. Pick the one that came first. That is your sign.
  4. For the next three days, all you are doing is noticing it. Not acting on it, noticing it.

If it does not work

If you cannot remember, ask somebody who was there what they saw first. They will usually know, because they have been watching for it.

Write the one sentence

A specific plan works better than a good intention. Fill both halves in your own words.
