A handful of deaths with nothing to compare them against cannot tell you what caused them. That is an uncomfortable thing to say about people who died, and it is why regulators went back and looked properly instead of leaving a ban in place. Keep the story to hand for a patient who has read a frightening headline, because it shows how a scare starts and how one gets corrected.
This explains how treatments work. Never start, stop or change a medication because of something you read here.
'if a troublemaker brings you news, check it first, in case you wrong others unwittingly' (Quran 49:6). Frightening news deserves the same checking as any other kind.

A meta-analysis of stimulant treatment in adults found small but consistent increases in heart rate and blood pressure, enough to warrant monitoring rather than alarm. That is the actual cardiovascular signal, measured across trials rather than assembled from case reports. The honest position holds both parts: a real if modest effect on the heart, and no support for a scare built on four uncontrolled cases.

Strength of evidence: one line of research. A single study, or a theoretical account.
Without a comparison group you cannot separate what a medicine did from what would have happened anyway.
Put today next to the night before it, out loud and often. How did today go after seven hours of sleep, next to the day that followed staying up until three?
