Two weeks of notice usually means the work happens in the last few hours anyway, with all the dread in between. So set a smaller box on purpose: today between four and five, and whatever is done at five is done. Tell someone the deadline if that makes it real. This is a way of borrowing urgency, not a comment on your character.
Take action, God will see your actions (Quran 9:105). The instruction is to begin, and a smaller window is simply a way of making beginning possible today.

In pooled trials of exercise for depression, effects were larger in supervised, higher intensity programmes than in loose arrangements. Supervision and intensity are tangled together there, so the trials cannot tell you which part mattered. What they do show is that a tighter structure around an activity is associated with more benefit, not less.

Strength of evidence: one line of research. A single study, or a theoretical account.
A near deadline supplies the bit of alertness that gets you moving, which a distant one cannot do.
This one backfires if the deadline is genuinely impossible, so make sure the box is small because the task is small.
Nobody sits down at a piano and plays Mozart the first afternoon. Set the bar at this week rather than at the finished version of yourself.
Five minutes of moving about sharpens concentration enough to notice. You do not need a session, you need a lap of the building.
If the word exercise makes you flinch, drop it. Say moving about, or getting out, and see whether a plan turns up.
