Words can wait. A held embrace after conflict settles the body and the bond.
They are a garment for you and you for them (Qur'an 2:187). After friction, draw the garment close again.
You [believers] are permitted to lie with your wives during the night of the fast: they are [close] as garments to you, as you are to them. God was aware that you were betraying yourselves, so He turned to you in mercy and pardoned you: now you can lie with them- seek what God has ordained for you- eat and drink until the white thread of dawn becomes distinct from the black. Then fast until nightfall. Do not lie with them during the nights of your devotional retreat in the mosques: these are the bounds set by God, so do not go near them. In this way God makes His messages clear to people, that they may guard themselves against doing wrong

Emotionally focused therapy treats physical contact as an attachment signal in its own right, not a substitute for talking. Holding each other after a hard moment tells the body the rupture is mended, which usually settles you both faster than another round of explanation.

Conversation 6, Bonding Through Sex and Touch. Johnson holds that physical closeness and emotional safety run on the same track: touch given without demand is itself an attachment signal, and secure partners can ask for the touch they want.

Spousal handholding attenuated neural threat response; effect tracked marital quality.
Strength of evidence: one line of research. A single study, or a theoretical account.
Physical comfort after conflict co-regulates and reconnects a couple.
