The conversation you keep having

You have had it before. You will have it again. You know roughly what will be said and you go in anyway, because this time you have worked out how to put it so that they will finally see it.

They do not see it. They have never seen it. And afterwards you go over what you said and decide that you put it badly, which is why you are already drafting the better version for next time.

That is the loop. It is not a communication problem and you are not bad at explaining. You are trying to win something that was never on the table.
